Dogs have always fascinated me. So, while still living in Europe some twenty years ago, I decided to become a breeder. I have continued to pursue this venture with ambition, passion, and commitment. My first experience was with German Shepherds. Since 1986, my enthusiasm for everything about dogs has been very rewarding, whether it be breeding them, dog shows, natural health care for canines, or articles I have written about them. I arrived in Canada in 1997 and here, beside the banks of the majestic St. Lawrence River, a few miles from the capital of the beautiful province of Quebec; my dream has truly become a reality. It was in Quebec City in 2000, that I received my diploma in Magister Cyno-Professionnel, (Professional Master in Dog Breeding).

Since 1998, I have attended seminars in Canada and the United States related to the many issues concerning a dog’s well-being. Why do I breed dogs? Because I respect and admire this animal species. I do not consider dogs “people covered in fur.” To ignore their true nature would be a disservice to the animals. I adore my dogs, and they in turn love me beyond my wildest expectations, beyond measure, beyond merit, and maybe even more than I love myself. Dogs do not lie about their devotion and love.

Why did I choose the Golden Retriever and the Newfoundland?

I selected The Golden Retriever because it is truly a “chien en or,” a golden beauty – not only because of the magnificent colour of its fur, but mostly because of its affectionate and sociable nature. It can be as comfortable playing with a child, as it will be performing in a sporting event. My Golden Retrievers can best be described with ten adjectives: affable, gentle, joyful, exuberant, intelligent, docile, obedient, loyal, patient and confident.

The Newfoundland combines strength and beauty with gentleness. Its imposing size is very impressive, but the gentle look in its eyes leaves no one indifferent. In one of his poems, Lord Byron describes the instinctive qualities of the Newfoundland in these words:

“One Who possesses Beauty without vanity, Strength without insolence, Courage without Ferocity, and all the Virtues of man, w ithout his vices,is truly worthy of the Parthenon of Immortality.”

These attributes, I try to preserve in my dogs.

My dogs are the inestimable result of a combination of the best North American and European lineages, in total respect for the standard of the breed. They are bred not only for their excellence, but also for their disposition. All adult dogs are OFA certified for hips, elbows and heart, eyes are checked as well. I have had many Canadian and American champions in my lineage, but what is most important to me, is that they are all champions of love and loyalty.

My pups are born and bred in a family environment. They are treated like members of the family, and are observed and analyzed individually, in order to identify their specific characteristics. For this reason, I can be confident that I will choose the perfect dog for the right family.

It is with pleasure that I offer my complete support to future owners, whether it be concerning the care, diet or education of the newest member of their families. My aim, in so doing, is to ensure that the adaptation will be expedient for both the pup and his or her new family.

If you wish to know more about my four-footed friends and their future litters, do not hesitate to contact me. It will be my pleasure to offer any pertinent information to help you in your search for the ideal pup.

Cordially,
Gianfranco
